Community Forum

The Mooroolbark Umbrella Group hosted its first Community Forum at the Mooroolbark Community Centre on Thursday evening 24 November.

Guest speaker Senior Detective Sergeant Ron Iddles spoke passionately about the role healthy community can play in helping to prevent some of the tragedies he’s called to investigate. He spoke from the heart – and inspired us by his own compassion for those he deals with – both victims and their families and criminals.

Quiet achievers with Ron Iddles and Terry Avery

Ron teamed up with YRC Mayor Cr Terry Avery to present the Umbrella Group’s first Quiet Achiever Awards – an impressive medallion – made possible through the Mooroolbark Community Bank.

Awards were presented to Elsie Bolwell, Dylan Butler, Terry Charity, Bob Gatherum, Michael Gerrish and Fritz van Reymersdael. A short profile on each of the six appears in the latest Living Today in Mooroolbark http://mcf.gci.org.au/resource/livingtoday/LivingTodayIssue38.pdf
