Hookey Park Carols - Blue Skies after Rain!

The Lions Club of  Mooroolbark in partnership with the SES, Croydon Citizens Brass Band and the Mooroolbark Christian Fellowship hosted the annual Community Carols by Candlelight on Friday 8th of December 2017.

Late afternoon light in Hookey Park

Despite threatening rain during the day the skies cleared in the afternoon to provide a wonderful blue sky as backdrop to the evening light and setting sun. About 300-350 people attended starting with a twilight picnic before the band struck up with the National Anthem, followed by performances from 5 local primary schools, community carol singing with accompaniment from the Melbourne Mens Choir.

Thanks to all who contributed to make this annual event a reality in 2017.

One of the schools prepares to sing - introduced by MC Neil Mitchell.
